Make My Weak Things Strong
MAKE MY WEAK THINGS STRONG:
Throughout Moroni's abridgement, he includes his thoughts and things he learned from God. One such writing is found in Ether chapter 12. This song comes from verse 27, one of my favorite scriptures. This is actually the first song I made in this project, before the project was even an idea. This verse states: "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."
I love this verse because it shows that we can become strong in and from our weaknesses. God has a plan for all of us and it includes some of the things that we consider our fallacies. What I've learned in life, after studying this scripture is that some of our greatest weaknesses spawn from our greatest strengths. As Lehi taught his children in 2 Nephi 2:11, "For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things." I find that this opposition exists even in our strengths.
So if you are feeling weighed down by your weaknesses, failures, mistakes, you are not alone. Remember that humility is more than thinking you are not worthy. Humility is about being teachable. It's recognizing that you don't know all things, therefore you don't know what God has planned for you and looking for the lesson in the weakness and the good in the difficult. And if you humble yourself before God, he can show you your strength in your weakness and he can turn your weakness into a strength.
